The Talented Mr. Ripley

The Talented Mr. Ripley - Patricia Highsmith Tom Ripley is hired by Herbert Greenleaf to go to Italy and convince the latter's son to come home. While there, it becomes clear to the reader that Tom is a bit strange, to put it mildly.

Highsmith does a good job at taking us through a plethora of minor plot details. Her planning process must have been pain-staking. Tom's psychology is fascinating. There could have been a stronger #2 character, but I quibble. This novel gets my recommendation
